Cook County Leak Repair is available to income-eligible suburban Cook County residents (excluding Chicago) who own or rent their homes. Use our simple lookup tool to see if you are eligible!
Participation and repairs are free. We identify the cause of your high water usage and provide plumbing repairs and fixture upgrades to stop the leaks—at no cost to you.
The program replaces faucets, toilets, and showerheads, and can repair other leaks from the pipes that bring water into your home. It does not fix leaks resulting from weather, structural damage, appliances, or address drain and sewer leaks or blockages.
Licensed plumbers will repair leaks, replace your outdated fixtures, and ensure you aren’t wasting water or money.

If needed, we’ll schedule an in-person assessment of your home for large or complex leaks. Then, we’ll schedule a time for a licensed plumber to visit your home to repair leaks or install efficiency upgrades—at no cost to you. Most plumbing repairs are quick and won’t interfere with your life.
